I. Merit Increase
The review period begins October 1 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date of the last action and ends September 30 of the year prior to the effective date. If this is a first merit increase following an initial appointment, the review period will be from the start date of the appointment through September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date.
II. Mid-Career Appraisal (MCA)
The review period of a mid-career appraisal is from the start date of an initial appointment as Assistant Professor through September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date.
III. Promotion or Promotion to tenure (Assistant Professor to Associate Professor)
The review period begins from the start date of an initial appointment as Assistant Professor and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date. However, if a tentative decision, additional information prior to final decision, or preliminary assessment is requested by the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, the faculty will have an opportunity to submit new materials up until a final decision is made.
IV. Promotion to Full (Associate Professor to Full Professor)
The review period begins October 1 of the year prior to promotion as Associate Professor and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date; or since the start date of the initial appointment as Associate Professor and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date.
V. Advancement to Professor, Step VI
The review period begins October 1 of the year prior to promotion to Full Professor and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date; or since the start of the appointment as Full Professor, Step I-V, and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date.
VI. Advancement to Professor Above Scale
The review period begins October 1 prior to advancement to Professor, Step VI, and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date; or since the start of the appointment as Full Professor, Step VI-IX, and ends September 30 of the year prior to the July 1 effective date.
