This is a reminder that Deans may earn additional compensation for summer research or Summer Session teaching, per APM 240-18-e: Additional University Compensation.
Deans may receive up to 1/12th payment for summer research based on their annual decanal salary. In such instances, accrued vacation shall be used in proportion to the research days worked.
Summer Session Teaching
Deans may receive up to 1/12th payment for summer session teaching. In such instances, accrued vacation shall be used in proportion to the teaching days worked.
Deans interested in earning additional summer compensation must submit a written memo request to Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Hal Stern for pre-approval. The memo should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the following:
- The type of additional compensation.
- The total number of vacation days that will be used.
- The specific days worked (i.e. August 1-15th).
