Annual Call for Conflict of Commitment Reporting

ACADEMIC DEANS
FACULTY ADMINISTRATORS (100% TIME)

Each year, Deans and Faculty Administrators (100% Time) are required to report outside professional activities to their campuses. Please complete the 2019-2020 Annual Certification in UC OATS no later than Monday, November 2, 2020. The completion of the Annual Certification and reporting of outside professional activities in the UC OATS system satisfies reporting obligations under APM 025 and for Health Sciences, APM 671.

Beyond what is required of faculty, the following three provisions specifically apply for Deans and Faculty Administrators (100%):

• You may serve on a maximum of three for-profit external boards.
• You may engage in Category I activities, or in outside professional activities involving a student. Category I activities require my approval before engaging in these activities. This form is submitted and routed to me via UC OATS for review and approval.
• For activities involving a student, you are required to obtain prior approval. The Student Involvement form is submitted to me via UC OATS and is routed in the system for review and approval.
• You may engage in a maximum of 48 days of outside professional activity per year. The first twelve of those days may be workdays, with the remaining 36 to be covered by accrued vacation.
