The University of California and the UAW entered into a settlement agreement on January 29, 2024 regarding the implementation of the child dependent health insurance benefit for ASEs and GSRs (as described in Article 14 – Health Benefits of the ASE collective bargaining agreement (“CBA”) and Article 13 – Health Benefits of the GSR CBA). ASEs and GSRs are entitled to have their child dependents’ health insurance premium covered by the University if they meet certain eligibility requirements, which can be found in the above-referenced CBA articles.
Pursuant to the settlement agreement terms, UCI is distributing the Child Dependent Health Insurance Attestation Form to ASEs and GSRs (see attached). Procedures to request this benefit will follow later this month.
