The Irvine Campus will continue to participate in the Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP) during the 2024-2025 academic year. Ladder-Rank Faculty, Professors of Teaching and Professors in Residence (not Health Sciences Compensation Plan eligible) are encouraged to apply. Schools and academic units may establish their own internal deadlines, however, all completed requests must be submitted electronically to the Office of Academic Personnel (acadpers@uci.edu) by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024. No extensions will be granted, and late submissions will be automatically rejected without being reviewed.

New faculty with employment starting 2024-2025 will be granted a maximum of 3-months extension from the date of hire, providing allowable funds to support a negotiated salary component are awarded and in hand at the time of appointment.

A systemwide joint Senate-Administration Taskforce has made its recommendation to institutionalize the program into Academic Personnel Manual (APM) policy and create a permanent negotiated salary plan. The Office of the President has authorized the extension of Phase 2 of the NSTP into fiscal year 2024-25 to provide sufficient time to give careful consideration of the systemwide comments and draft policy.
