Audience:  Senate Faculty

Dear Colleagues:

As University of California employees, we are required by various state and federal laws, and University policy, to complete the following mandatory training programs:

  • UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals;
  • UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Non-supervisory Staff or UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Supervisors and Faculty;
  • Abusive Conduct in the Workplace; and
  • General Compliance Briefing: UC Ethical Values and Conduct or UC Ethics and Compliance Briefing for Researchers (for researchers only).

For our UCI Health co-workers, in addition to the list above, there are additional, mandatory trainings related specifically to healthcare and appropriate regulatory requirements. Please refer to your assigned trainings listed in the University of California Learning Center (UCLC).

These mandatory training programs ensure that University employees understand their responsibilities and obligations. Non-compliant employees (and their supervisors) receive automatic email reminders to complete their trainings by the deadline. If you are unsure whether you have completed all mandatory training, please log into UCLC and click on the blue “Assigned Training” tab to see the list of all training assigned to you and the deadlines. If you need assistance logging into UCLC or require accommodations to access and complete mandatory training, please contact the Employee Experience Center at eec@uci.edu or (949) 824-0500, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

You must complete all overdue mandatory training by Friday, March 17th at 5:00 p.m. There may be additional or different mandatory trainings in the future. Senate faculty who do not complete the mandatory trainings by the deadline will be subject to the following restrictions until they have completed all the required trainings:

  • loss of eligibility to serve in a supervisory role;
  • no salary adjustments associated with positive review actions;
  • loss of eligibility to participate in any supplementary compensation programs (e.g. NSTP, HCOMP Plan, discretionary salary equity program);
  • loss of the privilege to participate in outside professional activity.

Thank you for your efforts to ensure that UCI complies with state and federal requirements. If you have questions about this message, please contact acadpers@uci.edu.

Sincerely,

Diane K. O’Dowd
Vice Provost for Academic Personnel
