As part of a UCOP grant for Advancing Faculty Diversity that was awarded to Vice Chancellor Douglas Haynes, completion of a Faculty Search Committee Chair Survey in UCI AP Recruit is now required for all senate recruitments. The survey is designed to assess search practices employed as part of a faculty search and was first implemented within AP Recruit in 2017. Completion of the survey by the faculty search committee chair was optional but strongly encouraged.
Effective immediately, completion of the survey for senate recruitments is required in order for a department to submit a Search Report. The survey becomes available in AP Recruit to Faculty Search Committee Chairs as soon as a search is open. Completion of the survey will be required before departments can submit a Search Report proposing a candidate for hire in AP Recruit. Search Committee Chairs must click on the light orange-colored banner labeled, “Committee Chair Survey: Survey not started,” which can be found in the top right corner of each page within the applicable senate recruitment.
A copy of the search committee chair survey is attached for your information and reference only. The survey must still be completed on-line.
