Salary Scales

The salary scales for Unit 18 Faculty now have designated salary points, new salary admin plans, and grades for UCPath entry. The new salary scales have salary point increments of 3 percent, which do not correlate with any previously existing salary scales. There are new minimum and maximum salary points for Pre-Six and Continuing Lecturers.

The new salary scales are now available on the AP Website. The new rates are also available in UCPath when entering a new transaction with a begin date of February 1, 2022 or after.

Effective February 1, 2022, Unit 18 Faculty will be placed on the new salary scale at the nearest salary point on or above a 7 percent increase to their current full time equivalent salary. This may result in a range adjusted rate of more than 7 percent. Unit 18 Faculty with salaries above the maximum scale rate will be given a salary point of zero (0) in UCPath, and will have their salaries adjusted by 7 percent. Salaries above the maximum scale rate will not be considered above-scale and will remain in the UCANNL compensation rate code. The use of compensation rate code UCABVE is not permitted for this population.

Sample Salary Calculation:
Below are the steps taken to place an Academic Year Lecturer (Pre-Six) on to a salary point on the new salary scale. The Lecturer has a current salary of $56,945.

  1. Apply the 7% salary adjustment to current salary: $56,945 x 1.07 = $60,931.15
  2. The adjusted salary is rounded up to the nearest dollar; $60,932.
  3. Referencing the appropriate salary scale, in this scenario, T015, locate the salary point that is at or above the adjusted salary.
  4. Since the salary calculated in step 2 (above) is lower than the minimum salary on the scale, the Unit 18 Faculty will be mapped to salary point 1 with a salary of $62,455, resulting in a 9.67% salary increase.

Updates to the salary admin plans, grades, and assignment to the new salary points will be done centrally
