Next Steps — Review and update before payroll cut-off: October 25, 2019

The academic range adjustment for the Ladder-Rank Faculty and other academic appointees tied to the Ladder-Rank has been completed. Salaries entered prior to the PPS Freeze (10/09/2019) have been adjusted by 4% across-the-board effective October 1, 2019. Units may again begin to enter appointments and update other actions for all monthly academics. The updated academic salary scales can be found on the AP Website.

Next Steps – REVIEW

It’s critical that you review and verify the accuracy of the adjustment as soon as possible. With so many payroll changes occurring, it is important that any errors be corrected before the salary is paid on the November 1st paycheck. Payroll cut-off: October 25, 2019.

Payroll no longer automatically prints/distributes reports of the changes resulting from the range adjustment process. You still have access to these reports via the EDL. Instructions on accessing these reports can be found on the EDL Payroll Reports Overview.

UPDATE

Amount above the Cap: Supplementing an agency capped salary rate is optional, therefore, amounts can vary depending on funding. Distribution lines that fund this amount (i.e., the Cap Gap/Salary Supplementation) were not updated. Please adjust these amount to supplement the new salary rate as needed.

NSTP (Negotiated Salary Trial Program): The range adjustment did not update any NSTP appointment lines or distributions. Effective October 1, 2019, NSTP participants must decrease the Negotiated Salary Component (NSC), while increasing the Scale Based Salary (SBS) to maintain the same Total UC Salary (TUCS) that was approved prior to the range adjustment.

Rounding Rules

The Ladder-Rank Faculty and other academic appointees tied to the Ladder-Rank series have their ANNUAL salaries rounded to the nearest $100:

  • Ladder Rank Faculty (Acting, Adjunct, Recall, In Residence, Associate Deans)
  • Professors of Teaching (Lecturer with Security of Employment series)
