The following is an issuance of revised Academic Personnel Manual (APM) 758, Leaves of Absence/Other Leaves with Pay. The revised policy is effective January 1, 2024 and can be found on the Academic Personnel and Programs website or at APM 758, Leaves of Absence/Other Leaves with Pay.
The revisions add reproductive loss leave allowing up to five days of leave for a reproductive loss consistent with Senate Bill 848, which was signed into law by Governor Newsom on October 10, 2023. The language regarding bereavement leave has also been edited to clarify that bereavement leave does not need to be used on consecutive days.
