UCPATH Freeze: Friday, July 1, 2022 — Thursday, July 7, 2022

In accordance with guidelines issued by the Office of the President, the University of California is implementing the 2022-2023 salary program for policy covered non-faculty academics to receive a four percent (4%) range adjustment. In accordance with the contractual collective bargaining agreements for Unit 18 Faculty, Academic Researchers and Librarians (represented academics), individuals governed by those agreements will receive a three percent (3%) range adjustment.

The precise amount will vary due to rounding. The increases for non-represented and represented academics will be effective July 1, 2022 for monthly paid employees and July 10, 2022 for biweekly paid employees. Smoothing of the salary scales due to equity adjustments may result in an increase of more than the listed percent.

The academic salary program will be implemented for the following titles.

Eligible non-represented academic appointees:

  • Academic Administrator Series
  • Academic Coordinator Series
  • Assistant and Associate University Librarians
  • Librarians
  • Professional Research Series
  • Project Scientist Series
  • Specialist Series
  • Resident Physicians
  • Teachers – UNEX (Teachers – UNEX Contract-Year are not eligible)

Eligible represented academic appointees:

  • Librarians
  • Professional Research Series
  • Project Scientist Series
  • Specialist Series
  • Unit 18 Faculty

Deans Merit Increase

Deans and other full time faculty administrators will receive a four percent (4%) increase effective July 1, 2022.

Salary Scales

The new salary scales are available on the AP Website.

The new rates for the eligible populations are now in UCPath and will be available moving forward for any transactions with a July 1, 2022 (MO)/July 10, 2022 (BW) or greater effective date. Any future dated transactions with old rates already entered in UCPath will be adjusted to the new rates during the freeze period.

UCPath Freeze: The freeze only applies to the populations listed above who will have their salary plans range adjusted. The freeze period is scheduled for July 1, 2022 through July 7, 2022 for monthly and biweekly paid employees.

Thursday, June 30, 2022 LAST DAY TO UPDATE
This is the last day you will be allowed to make any pay component changes in UCPath for the populations listed above. Pay component changes include changes to job code, employee classification, salary plan, pay rate, etc. New hire, concurrent hire, rehire, termination, retirement, job extension, and short work breaks can continue to be processed.

Do not update/change/delete pay components in UCPath for the populations listed above during this time.
Friday, July 8, 2022 ADJUSTMENT COMPLETE
Units may again begin to update pay components for the populations listed above in UCPath.

Ladder Rank Professors and Professors of Teaching Faculty Range Adjustment and Discretionary Program

The Ladder-Rank Faculty and other academic appointees tied to the Ladder-Rank scales will be increased by four percent (4%) in the fall effective October 1, 2022. The discretionary program details have not yet been finalized, additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.
