Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Academic Researchers
- On or around October 31, 2019, the University and the United Auto Workers have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract for UC’s academic researchers. This contract was ratified by the UAW membership on November 8, 2019. This is a multi-year agreement, effective from November 8, 2019 through September 30, 2022.
- Series affected by this ratification are the Specialist series, Project Scientist series, and Researcher series. Click here for current contract information.
- Academic Student Employees
- For University policies concerning academic student employees, refer to the UC Irvine Agreement Between the Regents and the UAW (AFL-CIO)
- Graduate Student Researchers
- UCI graduate student employees appointed as graduate student researchers are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Regents of the University of California and the Student Workers Union, International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) AFL-CIO. The agreement between the Regents and the UAW (AFL-CIO) can be found here.
- Librarians

- Members of the Librarian Series who are managers and supervisors are covered by the APM. For University policies concerning members of the Librarian Series in the bargaining unit, refer to the Memorandum of Understanding, University Federation of Librarians.
- Non-Senate Instructional Unit
